Channels
- Channel: Outlets that are similar in size and that buy, merchandise and sell beverages in similar ways
- C&G: The channel that includes convenience stores and gas stations
- Full-Service Vending: PepsiAmericas places and stocks the vending machine and pays a commission to the account on the machine's sales
- Large Format: Supermarkets, mass merchandisers and club stores
- Mass Merchandiser: Retail outlets marketing general merchandise, prescription drugs, household goods, etc., with a limited grocery selection
- On-Premise (also known as Foodservice): Outlets (including restaurants, theaters or cafeterias in schools, hospitals, office buildings, department stores, airports, etc.) where consumers buy fountain beverages or single-serve bottles and cans for immediate consumption
- Small Format: Convenience stores, gas stations, and drug and dollar stores
Volume
- B&C: Short for bottle and can
- CSD: Carbonated Soft Drink. Pepsi is an example of a carbonated soft drink
- Fountain Gallons: Product sold to retail and food service outlets for immediate consumption
- Non-Carb: Short for non-carbonated beverages. Lipton teas are examples of non-carbonated beverages
- Single Serve: B&C products sold for immediate consumption in retail and on-premise channels
- Take-Home: Products sold warm and generally purchased for at-home or future consumption
- Volume: The case measurement we use for the number of bottles and cans that were actually produced, distributed and sold. Each case of product, regardless of package configuration, represents one physical case
Industry
- DSD: Direct Store Delivery. Products go from the plant or warehouse directly to a customer account
- LRB: Liquid refreshment beverages, including carbonated and non-carbonated beverages
- Per-Capita Consumption: Average number of eight-ounce servings consumed per person, per year in a specific market
- PET: Polyethylene Terephthelate. Plastic used to make bottles
